The odds are against the UMA Racing MMR Yamaha Philippines team, as they are off to a challenging start in their quest to bring back the UB150 ARRC Championship to the country.

April King Mascardo, still battling the injury he sustained in practice for round one, came through in the qualifiers to start at 5th position on the grid in the second round of the series held in the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia. Gian Carlo Mauricio, who is still looking to find his footing in the ARRC, started on 20th.

It was as close as it could get for race one, with no rider gaining a substantial lead throughout. Unfortunately, a nasty spill in the last lap on turn 15 took out half of the riders, which included Mascardo. Mauricio, spared from the massive spill, finished the race in 11th.

In race two, it was evident that the racers were backing off in their aggression to avoid another nasty crash. Unfortunately, Gian, who wanted to build off his recent finish, bowed out of the race due to technical problems.

The team would be anchored by April, who wanted to avenge his DNF in the last race. He would enjoy a taste of the lead during the race but would have to settle for 6th to end round two of the ARRC.
