Hyundai Reina Reviews: Does it Comes with Powerful Engine?

Let’s see what powers the Hyundai Reina as we take a peek under its hood!

What’s under is the hood is a 1.4L in-line four-cylinder gasoline engine which produces 95 horsepower and 132 Newton meters of torque. It is paired with either a five-speed manual transmission, priced at PhP 683,000, or a four-speed automatic transmission priced at PhP 733,000.

As a very basic car, the Reina just gives you what it really says – adequate power for a road car that’s meant for the city, and occasional trips out of town. It can also be a worker car, as a TNV, or a daily driver with its fuel efficiency. In the city, it has an average of 10 kilometers per liter, while on the highway, it can go up to 14 or 15 kilometers per liter.

The other features, or the lack of it, in the Reina has not been the primary selling point of the car but its fuel efficiency and engine reliability. Even if Hyundai is not as established as Toyota or Mitsubishi in the Philippines, it will always be a good runner up as it has proven in the recent years.

If you need a car that is reliable and fuel efficient, but does not mind looking bland or basic, then the Reina can be a perfect fit for you. Or you can just try to look at other cars in the same segment. The Mirage G4 and the Toyota Vios (look for the XE as it is closer to the Reina’s price point) can be great contenders.
