Geely Philippines looks keen on launching the 2024 Geely GX3 Pro soon, as crossover units have already been spotted in a warehouse in Laguna and undergoing testing around Luzon.
The Geely GX3 Pro initially debuted at the 2023 Manila International Motor Show but only as a preview as the automaker was still finalizing the specifications and pricing for the crossover. However, Geely wants to launch it soon to compete against the likes of the Toyota Raize and the Kia Stonic.
While launch dates have yet to be confirmed, we will give you some fun facts about the GX3 Pro that you might not know about.

Geely Philippines has a pension for its turbocharged 1.5-liter 3-cylinder motors. Most of the vehicles in its lineup have the 1.5-liter engine, including the Geely Coolray, Geely Okavango, and the Geely Azkara.
The only model not to have the turbocharged engine is the Geely Emgrand which has a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter motor. The Emgrand is also the first model not to have a 3-cylinder motor under the hood, as it has a 4-cylinder instead.
The arrival of the Geely GX3 Pro will make it the second model to have a 4-cylinder motor and the second to be naturally aspirated.
If you look closely at the Geely Philippines lineup, you will see that most vehicles have a wet-type 7-speed DCT as their choice for a gearbox. The only exception is the Geely Emgrand, the first model with a CVT instead of the DCT.
Once the Geely GX3 Pro arrives, it will be the second model with a CVT and the second vehicle
with a manual transmission.
The Geely GX3 Pro has a generous amount of trunk space behind the 2nd row of seating. Geely Philippines stated that it has around 400 liters of space. It beats the Toyota Raize, which only has a 369-liter cargo area behind the rear seats.
Its excellent trunk space makes it a great choice for those who want more storage space in their subcompact crossover.
While official specifications of the local version of the Geely GX3 Pro aren’t available yet, specifications from other markets have revealed that the crossover comes with cruise control.
Granted that it is not adaptive, it's still a great feature, considering that its Philippine rivals do not have the feature available. It could be a game changer for the segment, but other automakers may have the feature installed for future model updates.
A quick background check of the Geely GX3 Pro reveals that the vehicle has been in production since 2017. While some may think it's bad as the car is “old,” the model we are getting in the Philippines is the most recent update.
It means it has given Geely time to refine the product before it officially enters the local market. The model launching soon has a facelift and more power than initially available. It used to make around 94 PS but has been tuned to produce 103 PS for its most recent update.
Will the Geely GX3 Pro be a hit for the local market?
