Lamborghini is ending its V12 era with a bang as it revealed the new Invencible and Autentica as the swan song for the last of its gasoline-only vehicles. The former is a coupe, while the latter is a roadster.
They both utilize the Lamborghini Aventador platform, which debuted 12 years ago with the Aventador LP 700-4.
The Invencible and Autentica blend past models featuring styling cues derived from the brand’s other V12 machines. Lamborghini also states that the duo took after the Venenon, which was the most aggressive derivative of the Aventador.
The pair also pays tribute to the Gallardo-based Sesto Elemento, focusing on lightness and aerodynamics. The coupe and roadster come with a whole carbon fiber body that features the brand’s hexagonal theme.
The Invencible is finished in Rosso Efesto, while the Autentecia gets a Grigio Titans exterior.
Inside, both vehicles have a minimalist interior that does not have an infotainment system but does feature 3D-printed air vents to maximize lightness.
As this is a swan song to the V12 engines, both vehicles are equipped with the most potent configuration yet. Similar to what was done with the Lamborghini Ultimae, the mid-mounted naturally aspirated engine produces 769 PS and 720 Nm of torque.
Like other of the brand’s special vehicles, its power is sent to all four wheels via a seven-speed ISR gearbox.
Lamborghini has yet to disclose the performance figures of both vehicles; however, based on existing models with similar equipment, we could see it hit 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and hit a top speed of about 355 km/h.
Pricing for the pair has yet to be revealed. However, since these are special one-off vehicles, we could expect to see their prices hit $500,000 or higher.
It's the end of the line for the V12-powered cars of Lamborghini, but it's a great way to go out in style. Will you miss the automaker’s V12-powered vehicles, or are you interested in what the new hybrid era will bring?
