Ay na-share! 2024 Toyota Yaris Cross prices, specs leaked on Toyota Philippines website

Carmakers generally keep their upcoming models closely guarded secrets until the day of the official launch.

But even Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) can’t seem to contain its excitement about the 2024 Toyota Yaris Cross. Or it just wants you to hold on to your money first before buying from a competing brand.

The Japanese carmaker has confirmed on its official website what our anonymous sources told us some time ago – the Yaris Cross will feature three variants, including a top-spec hybrid variant.

This new crossover is expected to slot in between the smaller Toyota Raize and the larger Toyota Corolla Cross in the TMP lineup. The Yaris Cross is 4,310 mm long, 1,770 mm wide, and 1,615 mm tall.

Starts under ₱1.2 million

Based on the specifications posted on the TMP website, the local Yaris Cross range kicks off with the ₱1,199,000 G variant.

This is powered by a 1.5-liter, twin-cam, 16-valve inline-4 gasoline engine producing 106 PS and 138 Nm of torque. This is mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Notable standard features include a smart keyless entry system, a push-start button, 17-inch alloy wheels, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a reversing camera. Standard colors include Attitude Black Mica, Greenish Gun Metal and Scarlet SE.

Next is the ₱1,296,000 Yaris Cross V, which also gets the non-hybrid 1.5-liter motor with a CVT.

Upgrades from the G include three drive modes (Eco, Normal, Sport), 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic rear-view camera and the Toyota Safety Sense active-safety suite with Pre-Collision System, Automatic High Beam, Lane Tracing Assist, Lane Keeping Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control.

Available colors are Greenish Gun Metal, Dark Turquoise SE, White Pearl and two-tone Scarlet SE/Attitude Black Mica.

EV mode available

Finally, the top-of-the-range, ₱1,598,000 Yaris Cross S HEV gets the same 1.5-liter engine, but mated to an electric motor. 

The combined output is 111 PS and 121 Nm of torque. This variant also includes an EV driving mode that allows you to run purely on electric power.

Like the V model, this also gets 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic rearview camera and Toyota Safety Sense. Available colors are all two-tone – White Pearl/Attitude Black Mica, Scarlet SE/Attitude Black Mica and Dark Turquoise SE/Attitude Black Mica.

Our sources told AutoFun Philippines that the Yaris Cross is expected to launch locally very soon and is priced to take on the tidal wave of new Chinese crossovers.

In addition, TMP posted a teaser of a new car on its official Facebook page. Despite the silhouette, the LED daytime running lights heavily resemble the Yaris Cross.
