Hyundai Motors Indonesia unveiled the Stargazer X at the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show on August 10, 2023 with two variants available in its domestic market.
Featuring amped-up styling with its new hood, grill and front bumper, fender claddings, 17-inch wheels, black roof, rear wing spoiler, and a revised bumper on the outside, the Stargazer X follows Mitsubishi’s proven Xpander and Xpander Cross MPV-SUV 1-2 punch with its very own rendition of the winning formula.
Inside, the instrument and infotainment cluster finally gets a dash of gloss piano black, a detail sorely missing in the current Philippine Stargazer lineup. Reminiscent of other Hyundai and Kia shiny dashboard cowls, the Stargazer now projects a more stylish and premium vibe inside with this minor change.

Even the cup holder surrounds, which looked like painted plastic in the original Stargazer releases now has a translucent plastic finish. An electronic brake with autohold function now comes standard in the Stargazer X.

Also getting an upgrade from the initial release of the Stargazer is its aircon bezel and controls. The Hyundai Stargazer X now sports toggle levers, a digital display, and a piano black finished panel for its climate controls.

The Stargazer X also gets its own leatherette seat pattern with red piping. The Philippine Stargazer X will get the Captain’s seat second row layout, which was initially shown at the Manila International Auto Show last April.

Aside from the snazzier interiors, the Stargazer X will also be equipped with an 8-speaker Bose Premium Sound System.

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems courtesy of Hyundai Smart Sense, will still be included along with six airbags. The Hyundai Stargazer X will still sport the same Smartstream 1.5-liter engine and IVT combo with 115 PS and 143.8 Nm of torque. Fortunately, it will also now rear disc brakes as standard .
Hyundai Motor Philippines hasn’t announced the price of the Philippine-spec Stargazer X yet, but it will definitely be a fifth variant on top of the existing four grades available in the country now.
Has Hyundai done enough to make the Stargazer X a more compelling proposition?
