The Hyundai Stargazer is undoubtedly one of the most eye-catching multi-purpose vehicles (MPV) on sale today.
Launched in the Philippines on November 2022, its futuristic styling and crisp, seven-seat interior make it a prime candidate to be one of Hyundai Motor Philippines’ best-sellers.
But for those who want a Stargazer with a more off-road appearance, there’s always the Stargazer X that’s launching on Aug. 10, 2023 at the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show.
And even before the official launch, it’s already been spotted out in the open.
Chunkier looks
Indonesian automotive website OtoDriver published spyshots of the Stargazer X, which it got from TikTok.
Parked completely in the open, the new MPV gets matte-black bumper cladding with silver trim, along with matching fender flares, to provide better paint protection. The front grill has also been revised slightly, while standard roof rails provide added hauling capability.
The Stargazer X also gets larger alloy wheels and noticeably higher ground clearance.
1.5-liter powerplant?
Although Hyundai has yet to officially release the Stargazer X’s specifications, it will likely retain the standard Stargazer’s powerplant.
The Hyundai MPV is powered by a 1.5-liter, twin-cam, 16-valve inline-4 gasoline engine producing 115 PS and 144 Nm of torque. This is mated to a 6-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission.
The regular Stargazer is currently one of the newest and most powerful seven-seat MPVs in its class, beaten only by the Honda BR-V.
