The Mitsubishi Mirage G4 is a subcompact sedan that’s basically similar to the Mirage hatchback. The only exception is that this one has a spacious trunk to store more stuff. Nevertheless, it’s a highly useful trait that most practical Filipino consumers require in a daily driver. The Mirage G4 is powered by a thrifty 1.2-liter, Inline-3 cylinder engine mated to a 5-speed manual or CVT. It has a price range of ₱769,000 - 929,000 and four attractive colors to choose from. The Mirage G4 continues to be a strong contender in its segment due to its budget friendly price range and low maintenance cost.
Launch
Locally manufactured in Mitsubishi’s Santa Rosa Plant, the sixth-generation Mirage G4 was launched in 2013. The 4-door subcompact came in two body types, hatchback and sedan. Power came from a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine with a CVT or a 5-speed manual transmission. Back then, the Mirage G4 also came with a 2-DIN touchscreen head unit which wasn’t available before on an entry level subcompact.
The latest update of the Mirage G4 came about in 2021 as Mitsubishi integrated its signature dynamic shield design language. The result is an all-new look for the Mirage G4 with a redesigned front fascia, new fenders, bumpers, hood, headlights, and tail lights as well. Other changes to the Mirage G4 are the addition of a 7-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, updated upholstery and instrument cluster.
