One of the perks of being a carmaker in South Korea is that you can collaborate with some of the hottest K-pop groups in the world.
Hyundai Motor Company did just that by tying up with boy band BTS for a remake of the group's hit song "Yet to Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)" for the "Goal of the Century" World Cup campaign song.
The new music video was released on the Hyundai Motor Company YouTube channel on Sept. 23, 2022 and can be streamed through Spotify and Apple Music.
Aside from revised lyrics, the video depicts the carmaker's goal of becoming a Smart Mobility Solution Provider by featuring Spot from Boston Dynamics, AAM (Advanced Air Mobility) flying into the skies of the city and the Hyundai IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 traveling throughout the city.
The carmaker said in a press statement that the remake, called "Yet To Come (Hyundai Ver.)," is a British rock remix that aims "to deliver the cheering message" for "Goal of the Century" and anticipation for the FIFA World Cup.
"As one of the most influential global artists in the world, BTS and their music greatly influence our society to develop in a positive direction," said Hyundai Motor Company president and CEO Jaehoon Chang. "Through the World Cup campaign with BTS, we hope to create an opportunity for people all over the world to unite towards one goal of sustainability and cheer each other up."
Hyundai to go carbon neutral by 2045
The Korean firm launched on April 2022 its "Goal of the Century" campaign, which aims to help Hyundai achieve carbon neutrality in all stages of its production and operation by 2045.
To drive the campaign, Hyundai introduced a group of ambassadors called "Team Century" to promote its environmental and social sustainability projects throughout 2022.
The team is led by former England national team player Steven Gerrard. He is joined by BTS, Denmark national team member and surgeon Nadia Nadim, American fashion designer Jeremy Scott, contemporary Italian artist Lorenzo Quinn, documentary photographer and visual storyteller Nicky Woo and Boston Dynamics' Spot robot.
Hyundai Motor Company has also been an automotive provider and sponsor of FIFA since 1999. The firm will provide a fleet comprising the IONIQ 5 electric vehicle, the Santa Fe Hybrid, and the Elec City Bus to transport national team players, VIPs, and event officials.
