The Hyundai Reina is a simple budget car meant for the daily drive. Under its hood is a 1.4L in-line four-cylinder gasoline engine which produces 95 horsepower and 132 Newton meters of torque. This number is actually very modest. It is then paired with either a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic transmission.

As we have previously mentioned in a review of the Reina, it is a very basic car as it just gives you what it really promises – adequate power for a road car that’s meant for the city, and occasional trips out of town. We also said that the Reina can also be a worker car, as a member of a cab fleet, a TNV, or even better, a daily driver with its good fuel efficiency. The Reina’s fuel efficiency is its strength as a basic car where not too many gizmos can be found, understandably, due to its price point. But being basic like the Reina does not sound crazy for many. Now, the reasonable car is a fuel efficient one, not the one which chugs gasoline only to do errands, driving from point A to point B. The Reina does shine on this side of the road – as a fuel-efficient everyday machine. Driving in the city, the Reina can have an average of 10 kilometers per liter, which is not bad at all as it can be more economical on what, say, a Vios does and more. On the highway, the Reina can reach up to about 14 or 15 kilometers per liter, which is not Honda Earth Dreams CVT good, but at the same time quite decent and economical too.

Paired with reliability and a good price point, the Hyundai Reina can e a car of choice of individuals or families looking for a first car, or companies looking to buy a fleet of company cars for whatever purpose. It starts at PhP 683,000 for the manual transmission and the one with an automatic transmission is priced at PhP 733,000.
