Construction work takes a heavy toll on any vehicle.

Cars that are part of any construction site must handle rough terrain and heavy loads, as well as be versatile enough to carry workers and equipment.

Scheirman Construction Consolidated Inc. (SCCI) is no stranger to exceeding the expectations of its numerous residential, commercial, healthcare, industrial, corporate and small business clients.

Kia Philippines announced in an April 2023 press statement that SCCI has chosen the Kia K2500 4x4 double cab dropside as its do-it-all workhorse.

The firm bought 10 units, which were received at the SCCI office in RS City Square, Ortigas Avenue Extension in Cainta. Eight will see service in Cebu, while the remaining two will be used in Metro Manila.

4WD a must

For those who don’t know, Scheirman Construction was established in 2016 and is helmed by Engr. William Russell Scheirman, Jr.

The construction firm has main offices in Cainta, Cainta, Metro Manila and Cebu. 

Scheirman Construction chose the Kia K2500 4x4 Double Cab dropside because it met the company’s specific needs.

“With safety, quality craftsmanship, and service, productivity and timeliness as the benchmarks of a successful construction firm, we need a light-duty truck that can handle our unpredictable weather and road conditions and reach even the most remote construction sites,” said chief strategy officer and director Armando Inabangan Jr.

“The K2500 suits our very demanding requirements, and because of its unique 4x4 configuration, it makes for a very ideal fleet vehicle for our construction company," he added. "We need a dependable truck to arrive at its destination—no matter what.”

Punchy turbodiesel

The K2500 is also one of the most powerful vehicles in its class, as it carries a 2.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine.

It pushes out 130 PS and 255 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. It also comes with 200 mm of ground clearance and is one of Kia Philippines’ best-selling models.

The K2500 comes with a 3-year or 110,000 kilometer-warranty, whichever comes first, and free 3-year 24/7 Roadside Assistance. Kia Philippines also said it has a stockpile of parts ready with a nationwide network of centers prepared to serve.
