The 2023 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) saw many new crossovers launch and officially debut in the Philippine market.
The majority of the launches at the show were crossovers, with a few sedans and hatchbacks as well.
We had the likes of the Jetour Dashing, which was revealed before the auto show. We also had the GAC Emkoo and the Ford Territory, which publicly debuted at the event.
As these three crossovers are new to the segment, we decided to compare quickly to see which one, at least on paper, has the better specifications.

Exterior
We won’t talk too much about their exterior specifications, as all three are similar on paper.
It's also a three-way comparison, so listing their specs would take too long. So, instead, we will focus on their dimensions to see which crossover is bigger.
Vehicle |
Length |
Width |
Height |
Wheelbase |
Ford Territory |
4,630 mm |
1,935 mm |
1,706 mm |
2,726 mm |
GAC Emkoo |
4,680 mm |
1,901 mm |
1,670 mm |
2,750 mm |
Jetour Dashing |
4,590 mm |
1,900 mm |
1,685 mm |
2,720 mm |
With the numbers crunched, the Ford Territory is the biggest of the three crossovers. It is longer, taller, and broader than its competitors, but it doesn’t have the biggest wheelbase.
Out of the three, the Emkoo has the longest wheelbase, which means it has more space between its two axles for a more spacious cabin.
Interior and technology
Each crossover brings its unique interior styling to this comparison.
The Ford Territory brings an all-new design inside and out compared to its predecessor, as it has a new sloping dashboard design paired with a blue interior color. Aside from this, it also gets a 12-inch central touchscreen and a 12-inch digital instrument cluster.
The GAC Emkoo carries a similar theme with a sloping dashboard design with a more pronounced mid-section covered in leather. Like the Territory, it has two large displays as well.
The first is a 7-inch screen that serves as your digital instrument cluster, while the second is a 10.1-inch central screen for the infotainment system. It does support Apple CarPlay, but unfortunately does not come Android Auto.

Like its other competitors, the Jetour Dashing carries a futuristic dashboard design that is minimalist as well. It has a fully digital instrument cluster and a massive 12.8-inch infotainment system.
Unfortunately, it does not come with access to Android Auto, but it does have screen mirroring capabilities.

Power
You probably won’t be shocked that these three crossovers have a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine.
It's a growing trend in the market as it grants China-sourced vehicles with that kind of engine displacement lower taxation. Here's how the three stacks up:
Vehicle |
Engine |
Gearbox |
Power |
Torque |
Ford Territory |
Turbocharged 1.5-liter, twin-cam, 16-valve inline-4 gasoline |
7-speed dual-clutch transmission |
160 PS |
248 Nm |
GAC Emkoo |
Turbocharged 1.5-liter, twin-cam, 16-valve inline-4 gasoline |
7-speed dual-clutch transmission |
177 PS |
270 Nm |
Jetour Dashing |
Turbocharged 1.5-liter, twin-cam, 16-valve inline-4 gasoline |
6-speed dual-clutch transmission |
158 PS |
230 Nm |
The GAC Emkoo squeezes the most power from its 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine out of the three crossovers.
Safety
Regarding safety, all three vehicles have similar features.
It means they all can access front, side, and curtain airbags. All three also have ABS with EBD, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, a blind spot monitoring system, a tire pressure monitoring system, automatic emergency braking, and a reverse camera.
Something to note is that the Ford Territory is the only one here with a 360-degree camera, giving it a slight edge over its competitors.
Another thing to remember is that these vehicles have yet to be tested for the ASEAN NCAP. Once these safety ratings are revealed, we can give you a winner regarding safety among these three crossovers.
Price
All three crossovers are within the same price bracket of around ₱1.3 to ₱1.5 million range.
It is important to note that not all of these vehicles have multiple variants, and the Jetour Dashing only has one trim currently available.
That being said, the following are the prices for all three crossovers.
Ford Territory
- 1.5 Titanium
– ₱1,335,000
- 1.5 Titanium X
– ₱1,599,000
GAC Emkoo
- GE 1.5T 7DCT
– ₱1,413,000
- GL 1.5T 7DCT
– ₱1,553,000
Jetour Dashing
Which to pick?
The GAC Emkoo gives you the most power out of the three, but isn't the most affordable with regards to its entry-level model. While the rest of its rivals are in the ₱1.3 million area, the GAC crossover is priced at the ₱1.4 mark. However, its still more affordable than the Territory when you compare their respective top-spec models.
The Jetour Dashing is the most affordable but has the least power. The Ford Territory is an established nameplate and carries the most useable features out of the three.
Suppose you want a vehicle from a more established manufacturer. In that case, the Ford Territory is a sensible choice as it's a new vehicle from the ground up and checks the right boxes for a relatively affordable 5-seater crossover.
However, if you want more power or radical styling, the Jetour Dashing and the GAC Emkoo answer your needs.
Which of the three would you pick?
