After a quick peek and drive of their upcoming lineup of vehicles, GWM Philippines has officially launched in the country ahead of their supposed 2023 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) debut.
The automaker brought in the Haval H6, Haval Jolion and the Cannon to lead the charge. The brand also said this is just the start and more models are coming after MIAS.
Haval H6
The star of GWM Philippines' brand launch was the Haval H6, its flagship model for now.
It is classified as a compact crossover and will likely take on established names like the Hyundai Tucson, Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5.
It carries either a 12.3-inch or a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that has support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
All variants of the H6 also come with a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and a suite of advanced safety features, which includes a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow and autonomous emergency braking to name a few.
It packs a turbocharged 1.5-liter hybrid powerplant that produces an astonishing 250 horsepower and 530 Nm of torque, making it one of the most potent compact crossovers you can get on the market today.
Aside from this, it also comes with a dedicated hybrid transmission to put all that power to the ground.

Haval Jolion
Aside from the Haval H6, GWM Philippines also has the Haval Jolion.
It, like its brother, is a compact crossover, but has a more competitive price point. It will go up against the upcoming 2023 Ford Territory regarding specifications.
It has a 12.3-inch or 10.25-inch infotainment system that has support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
It also has advanced driver assists systems that include a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning and a tire pressure monitoring system, just to name a few.
Like the H6, the Jolion has a potent 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that produces 141 horsepower and 220 Nm of torque that is mated to a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission.
There's also a hybrid variant that utilizes a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. It produces 186 horsepower and 375 Nm of torque and has its own dedicated hybrid transmission.

GWM Cannon
The brand also showcased the GWM Cannon and its entry into the pickup truck segment in the Philippines.
It will go toe to toe with established names like the Toyota Hilux, Nissan Navara and Isuzu D-MAX.
It carries a 9-inch infotainment system that has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
Under the hood, it has a 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine that cranks out 161 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. It is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual and carries a BorgWarner transfer case for its 4x4 variants.
