Home-grown motorcycle brand Bristol has recently been busy filling up their product line-up.
It has launched the Assassin R400, the Vantaggio and the Invictus 400rr practically one after the other.
This time, Bristol has offered us a sneak-peak of its latest offering in the widely popular adventure scooter segment, the ADX 160.
Selling like hotcakes
The Bristol ADX 160 has already gained a massive following despite its launch scheduled for the Makina Motoshow in mid-April. In fact, the first batch of 30 units was sold out on the day it was displayed at its Caloocan showroom.
You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that Bristol is gunning for the Honda ADV160, but if you look closely, the Bristol ADX 160 looks more like the former’s bigger sibling, the Honda X-ADV. I’ll credit that to the badass spoke wheels and inverted front fork.
For everyday adventures
The Bristol ADX 160 is propelled by a 155.6cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine which can produce 10 kW and 14 Nm.
Tipping the scales at only 137 kilograms, the ADX 160 also has a Pinoy-friendly seat height of 790mm.
If you don’t have plans of hitting the trails, the ADX 160 is also suited for your daily urban adventures as it gives a decent fuel mileage of 43 km/l. With an impressive 11-liter tank capacity, you can go long distances between fill ups.
We have yet to get some saddle time on the ADX 160 because customers keep snatching them up as soon as units hit the showroom floor.
I have high expectations on the performance of the inverted front fork and the dual rear shocks with sub-tank. Together with the 14-inch front and 13-inch rear tire set-up, I am convinced that the ADX 160 is going to be sure-footed regardless of terrain.
With all the bells and whistles
Offered at an introductory price of ₱158,000, the Bristol ADX 160 features all the technological goodies: keyless operation, idling stop system, all-LED lighting and a TFT display panel.
If your budget is a bit tight, Bristol is also offering the ADS 160, which is practically the same scoot except you get a conventional telescopic front fork and cast wheels. At ₱138,000 it’s not a bad deal either. Get this, both variants come with front ABS as standard.
If the Bristol ADX 160 sounds like the adventure scooter you are looking for, head out to the Bristol Caloocan showroom and sign up for a unit now before inflation sets in.
