Less than a month ago, we received confirmation that Mitsukoshi Motor, the official distributor of SYM in the Philippines, will be bringing in the SYM - GPX Drone 150 soon.

To the delight of many scooter fans, it came sooner than expected.

Kudos to Mitsukoshi for making it available just in time for riding season and for going with the model name Jet X150 to ride on the popularity of the SYM Jet scooter series.

The SYM Jet X150 features a 150cc liquid-cooled, 4-valve, single-cylinder engine that produces 13 PS and 12 Nm of torque.

With its exposed handlebar and 14-inch wheels, you’d be forgiven for thinking that SYM might be gunning for the Honda PCX160 buyers. In fact, you might be on to something there.

The Jet X150 is priced at ₱135,800 while the Honda PCX160 has a tag price of ₱133,900. It seems to be a very close fight for these two premium scooters with Honda having a slight edge on pricing and specs.

However, there is the question of availability. The early bird, as they say, gets the worm.

While Honda is able to meet the high demand for the PCX160, there’s still a waiting period at some dealerships.

In terms of features, the SYM Jet X150 almost mimic the PCX160 CBS variant as both have a digital panel, keyless operation, combi-brake system and dual rear shocks.

As for styling, the SYM has more aggressive lines than the Honda.
