Six Pros and Only One Cons of the 2022 Toyota Camry

If you are looking for a premium car, you want to make sure that you will get what you are looking for. On the odd chance that you will consider a pre-loved or brand-new Toyota Camry, here are some of the pros and cons of this car that should help you decide if it is right for you.

Pros

The look is sophisticated all the way!

There is no argument about the sophisticated and classy look of the Toyota Camry. The exterior is sleek and premium-looking. Although it might not fit the taste of others, especially those who have a predisposition for sporty cars, it has an overall upper-class feel. Its looks match its price tag so factor that in. The character lines have evolved to evoke a sense of dynamism even though it is not one of the Camry's strong suites. The same design language is reflected inside the cabin. The soft-to-touch dashboard panel, flowing layout of the center console, and the seats are all finished in style and splendidly designed.

Features are premium

Aside from the looks, the features of the Toyota Camry are also premium, especially for the rear passengers. Since the Camry is intentionally for those people who have a driver, the rear passenger has touch-sensitive controls at the center armrest for the current 2022 Camry Hybrid. The controls allow the passengers to manipulate the temperature, blinds, and seat angle to achieve full-on comfort and relaxation. Aside from that, the rear passenger has control over the position of the front passenger seat with just a press of a button.

Comfy and relaxed ride

While the Camry has the looks and features, it is also still a comfortable car ride in. The cabin offers a supple and relaxed ride for both the driver and passengers. Aside from the fact that it is spacious and homely, the Camry also has seats that are well supported and plush. This gives passengers a satisfying ride each and every time.

All-new hybrid system

For 2022, the Toyota Camry is now a hybrid. This supports Toyota's corporate environmental credentials while giving customers a greener option in the executive sedan market. The good thing about the new hybrid system is that it doesn't compromise the power and performance of the Camry. It also gives a reason for it to be the environmentally responsible selection in a dwindling market of three contenders.

The fuel efficiency is promising

As a result of making the Toyota Camry a hybrid vehicle, it now promises better fuel economy than before. With the help of the hybrid system, Toyota Camry can save more fuel because for a limited range, it can run on its electric motors alone. The 2.5-liter engine also assists in power delivery when acceleration is in demand while also recharging the batteries when the electric supply is low.  On average, you can expect it to run 22.5 to 24 kilometers per liter on a combined city and highway drive, which is phenomenal considering its size and weight.

Value for money

With all the features that the Toyota Camry promises, including the new hybrid system and its resulting benefit to fuel economy for 2022, its Php 2.37 million price tag already makes it worth the extra money. Some might say that it is an expensive sedan because of its higher price say compared to a Honda Accord or a Mazda6. However, as a Hybrid, it does steal the show. Remember when a bare-bones Toyota Prius hybrid cost north of 2 million pesos some years back? Yeah, times have changed.

And even if you opt for a pre-owned Camry of recent years, you can still expect the same premium finish an accomplished backseat passenger deserves. Now that's what sets the Camry apart from the rest.

Cons

The rear seats don't fold

To be honest, I had a hard time thinking of something invaluable or something undesirable in the Camry, as it is well-engineered and well-designed. However, for the sake of those who might ask and for the information, I have to say that the 2022 Camry's rear seats don't fold. So, if happens that you have to pack in some long stuff at the back, don't expect the rear seats to fold. The reason behind this is that the rear seats are power-adjustable, which I believe is more impressive than having the rear seats fold.
