LIST: Car brands that increased their prices in Jan. 2023

Expect more expensive vehicles as car brands update their prices for 2023.

It's the first month of the new year and four manufacturers – Honda, Nissan, Mitsubishi and Suzuki – have already updated their prices as of press time. While some may only have minor changes, others have more dramatic hikes. 

However, we expect more brands to follow, especially those that have yet to implement changes since 2022. 

Honda Cars Philippines

Honda Cars Philippines announced in 2022 that it would increase the price of the Honda HR-V. It also raised the price of its other models, as shown below:

Honda Brio

Brio 1.2 S – from ₱650,000 to ₱680,000

Brio 1.2 V – from ₱742,000 to ₱772,000

Brio 1.2 RS – from ₱798,000 to ₱828,000

Brio 1.2 RS Black Top – from ₱808,000 to ₱838,000

Honda City

City 1.5 S – from ₱938,000 to ₱953,000

City 1.5 V – from ₱ 1,018,000 to ₱1,033,000

City 1.5 RS – from ₱1,078,000 to ₱1,093,000

Honda City Hatchback

City 1.5 RS Hatchback – from ₱1,138,000 to ₱1,153,000

Honda Civic

Civic V Turbo Honda SENSING – from ₱1,568,000 to ₱1,583,000

Civic RS Turbo Honda SENSING – from ₱1,760,000 to ₱1,775,000

Honda CR-V

CR-V 2.0 S – from ₱1,753,000 to ₱1,763,000

CR-V S Diesel Honda SENSING – from ₱1,993,000 to ₱2,030,000

CR-V SX Diesel AWD Honda SENSING – from ₱2,253,000 to ₱2,290,000

Honda HR-V

HR-V S Honda SENSING – from ₱1,250,000 to ₱1,389,000

HR-V V Turbo Honda SENSING – from ₱1,598,000 to ₱1,649,000

Suzuki Philippines

Another brand that starts the new year off with price increases is Suzuki Philippines. It sees increases in key models within its lineup, which include the APV, Swift, Jimny, Carry, and XL7. 

Below are the updated prices for the affected vehicles. 

Suzuki Swift

Swift GL CVT – from ₱775,00 to  ₱972,000

Suzuki APV

APV GA MT – from ₱651,000 to ₱743,000

APV GLX MT – from ₱843,000 to ₱915,000

Suzuki Carry 

Carry Truck (Drop side) – from ₱564,000 to ₱642,000

Suzuki XL7

XL7 GLX AT – from ₱1,098,000 to ₱1,181,000

Suzuki Jimny

Jimny GL MT – from ₱1,170,000 to ₱1,258,000

Jimny GLX AT (monotone)  – from ₱1,265,000 to ₱1,320,000

Jimny GLX AT (two-tone)  – from ₱1,275,000 to ₱1,330,000

Mitsubishi Philippines

Mitsubishi  Philippines also starts the year with updates to its price list. For January 2023, expect to see increases with the Mitsubishi Strada and the Mitsubishi Montero Sport.

Strada 2.4 Athlete 2WD AT – from ₱ 1,487,000 to ₱1,496,000

Nissan Philippines

Nissan  Philippines is another automaker that has increased its pricing for certain vehicles within its lineup. 

However, unlike the other brands on this list, it has lowered the price of the Almera VE variant. Below are the updated prices of the Nissan Kicks, select variants of the Nissan Urvan, and the V variants of the Nissan Almera.

Almera 1.0 VE Turbo CVT – from ₱999,000 to ₱998,000

Nissan Kicks 

Kicks e-POWER EL – from ₱1,209,000 to ₱1,239,000

Kicks e-POWER VE – from ₱1,309,000 to ₱ 1,339,000

Kicks e-POWER VL – from ₱1,509,000 to ₱1,539,000

Nissan Urvan
