Toyota has significantly contributed to the popularity and development of Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) since it launched the original Toyota Prius in 1997.
Over the last decade, the Japanese carmaker has also rolled out a wide range of hybrid cars in the Philippines that offer incredible fuel economy without the range anxiety that battery EVs still get because of insufficient charging stations.
Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) announced in a January 2023 press statement that it is showcasing its hybrid lineup through its “Go Electrified” tour, which kicked off at the Alabang Town Center in Muntinlupa City.
From January 19 to 22, 2023, mall visitors can check out and even test-drive hybrid versions of the Corolla Altis, Corolla Cross, Camry, and RAV4.
TMP said attendees can learn more about the technology behind its electrified vehicles. There are also prizes at stake for active participants in the various learning and immersion sessions.
“With its current portfolio of HEVs, TMP believes in giving its customers diverse and accessible choices in order to shift to electrified vehicles while still addressing their specific mobility needs today,” the company said.
“This step is aligned with the principle that electrified vehicles can only make a significant impact to the environment with the massive adoption of various carbon-neutral vehicle technologies,” TMP added.
The Japanese carmaker adopts a “multi-path” approach to sustainable mobility, and that’s why it offers hybrids, plug-in EVs, battery EVs, and hydrogen-powered vehicles.
