2024 Hyundai Sonata facelift debuts, final look before getting axed?

The 2024 Hyundai Sonata has officially made its debut featuring a new radical design similar to that of the Hyundai Kona, Staria, and Stargazer along with more high-tech features.

Sleek new exterior

Beginning with the most apparent changes to the sedan start with its new low-slung front end and fastback roof line.

It also gets the brand’s familiar “Seamless Horizon Lamp,” which gives it a full-length LED strip that runs across the whole width of the front fascia.

Underneath the LED lives the car’s LED headlights which have been cleverly hidden.

Aside from this, the 2024 Hyundai Sonata also receives new character lines that give it a more imposing stance.

If you want an even sportier version of the sedan, an N Line exterior package exists. It gives the 2024 Hyundai Sonata stylish 19-inch alloy wheels and dual exhaust finishers.

At the back, the sedan also gets the brand’s signature H-lights highlighting its more high-tech image. To finish things off, the sedan 2024 Hyundai Sonata receives a swooping spoiler-shaped trunk to maximize its aerodynamics and sleeker styling.

A new high-tech cabin

Inside the 2024 Hyundai Sonata, you are greeted with a sporty interior. It has a massive 12.3-inch curved instrument display and a another 12.3-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system.

The sedan also receives a touch-type climate control system to complement its tech-laden minimalist cabin.

One distinctive feature of the new Hyundai Sonata is that it doesn’t have a gear shifter. Instead, it has a column-type shift-by-wire controller behind the steering wheel.

The addition of the new shifter has allowed the South Korean automaker to create a more seamless dashboard. It has also let Hyundai shoe-in larger armrests and a bigger center glovebox for the sedan.

What about power?

Hyundai has yet to disclose the power options for the 2024 Hyundai Sonata. However, we suspect it will come with a turbocharged motor and an electrified drivetrain.

The facelifted Hyundai Sonata is set to make its public debut at the 2023 Seoul Mobility Show, which is set to happen on March 30 to April 9, 2023.

There is no word yet as to If or when Hyundai Philippines will bring in the new version of the sedan.

Would you like to see mid-sized sedans like the Hyundai Sonata live on?
