Toyota Motor Philippines adds new Toyota Veloz E variant, starts at ₱1.092M

Toyota Motor Philippines is heavily updating its local lineup of vehicles. Its local website reveals the Japanese automaker has just added a new variant to the Toyota Veloz.

The new Toyota Veloz 1.5E model is priced at ₱1,092,000, closing the gap between it and the Toyota Avanza 1.5G, which is priced at ₱1,059,00, by just ₱33,000. This makes it a more attractive offer if you are willing to spend the extra cash.

Is it worth paying more over the Avanza?

So, what do you get with the new variant? For starters, you lose out on a few cosmetic changes to the vehicle, such as removing the over-fenders that give it a more SUV-like look. However, it does make the Veloz E slightly thinner than the G model by 25mm at 1,750mm versus 1,775 found in the higher spec variant.

Aside from this, the E variant now gets the same 16-inch alloy wheels found in the Avanza G, and the MPV loses out on the puddle lamps located on the side mirrors.

Toyota has also limited the color options for the Veloz 1.5 E, as it's now only available in the following hues:

  • Purplish Silver Mica Metallic
  • Black Metallic 1
  • Dark Red Mica Metallic

Standard features

While the new Toyota Veloz 1.5 E exterior may differ from its G spec counterpart, it has retained some key features that differentiate it from its Avanza sibling:

  • 8-inch infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Auto LED lighting with sequential turn signals
  • Combination fabric and leather seats
  • Wireless charger

So, is the Veloz E worth the slight difference of ₱33,000 versus its Avanza counterpart? We think it is if you want the SUV-like styling of the Veloz versus the MPV looks of the Avanza.
