Matic only! Toyota Philippines introduces new Toyota Innova XE variant at Php 1,375,000

Toyota Philippines quietly launched the 2024 Innova XE as an additional variant to the MPV.

Toyota Motor Philippines has added a new variant to its venerable Toyota Innova.

A quick look at the brand’s official website reveals that the new model is called the Innova XE. It sits just below the Innova E model in terms of pricing and specifications.

On the outside, the new XE variant looks similar to the J model as it ditches the 16-inch alloy wheels from the E variant and replaces them with steel wheels with plastic covers.

However, despite the shift to steel wheels, the tire sizing remains the same at 205/65/R16. As the XE is based on the J variant, it doesn’t get the LED foglights found in the lower bumper of the E model.

The new model is available in four colors: Blackish Red Mica, Red Mica Metallic, Black and Silver Metallic, the same paint options for the E variant.

Inside, the XE is more akin to its E brother as it retains its touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities.

It also gets the same manual air conditioning controls and fabric seats. In addition, it has similar safety features like three SRS airbags, ABS with EBD and vehicle stability control.

Power remains the same for the new variant of the Innova as it has its 2.8-liter turbodiesel engine that produces 176 PS and 360 Nm of torque, which is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

As for its pricing, the 2024 Toyota Innova XE has a suggested retail price of Php 1,375,000 and is now available at all of the brand’s official dealerships nationwide.

Interestingly, the new variant is Php 154,000 cheaper than the closest automatic model, the Innova E AT. However, compared to the base model J variant, the new XE is Php 139,000 more expensive.

At the recent Chery Technology Day in Wuhu, the Chinese car company explained its global strategy as it ramps up its export business. The nearly two-hour-long set of presentations was so detailed and exhaustive that you'd imagine you were sitting in a board presentation or a marketing sign-off meeting. But it made sense to show it to the 600 or so Chery-brand users and media in attendance. It was a captive audience if ever there was one. El Plan One key observation we made was how Chery seems to
