Clear skies, no volcanic smog, and rain showers every once in a while to keep us from getting overheated. It feels like summer in the “-ber” months.

Go, go ATTO 3!

Even though it has the name of a children’s cartoon character, the BYD ATTO 3 electric vehicle (EV) is set to be the Chinese automaker’s next big thing in the Philippines.

AC Motors, the new distributor of BYD vehicles in the Philippines, announced that it plans to preview the EV crossover on October 19, 2023, at the Philippine EV Summit. And the image pricing is looking quite ambitious for a car in its class.

Will it win over buyers who can’t afford a Hyundai IONIQ 5 or Kia EV6 quite yet?

Toyota Land Cruiser 300, beware?

From a new name to a highly familiar one – the upcoming 2025 Nissan Patrol has been spotted testing in the United States.

It is expected to get a new engine and use styling cues from its more swanky sibling, the Infiniti QX80.

Will Nissan’s renowned off-roader take the crown from the Toyota Land Cruiser LC300?

All-electric D-MAX, anyone?

Combine Isuzu’s engineering prowess and the simplicity of an EV, and you might just have the makings of the toughest object on Earth.

The Japanese automaker announced that it is getting into the EV game with, unsurprisingly, a pick-up truck. Better still, it is expected to use the running gear from existing EV commercial vehicles.

Back to BYD, which has one of the most charming model names in the business.

I got the chance to test the Dolphin EV hatchback, which is supremely stylish and goes like a startled, well, dolphin. And now, AutoFun Philippines Content Head Mikko David has gotten behind the wheel of the smaller and more affordable BYD Seagull.

Ford’s big payoff

The Ford Territory is a lot of things that some Filipino car buyers wouldn’t normally consider – it’s a “Blue Oval” product that’s made in China.

But with 25,000 sales under its belt in just three years, with 5,000 units in just five months coming from the next-generation Territory, Ford Philippines is laughing all the way to the bank.
