Ford Philippines continued its strong sales performance in 2022 as it sold 16,244 units from January to September this year. This is a 10% increase compared to the same period in 2021.
With a total of 7,484 units sold in the first nine months of the year, the Ford Ranger led the lineup in sales with an increase of 12% in year-to-date sales compared to last year. The Ford Territory, meanwhile, also improved by 29% in year-to-date sales, with 6,430 examples sold from January to September this year. According to Ford Philippines, the Territory still leads the small SUV segment with a 52% market share.
Ford Philippines' third quarter performance in 2022 likewise saw an improvement of 50% over the same period last year, with 7,288 vehicles sold this year. This is 69% higher than the company's sales for the second quarter of 2022.
Ford recorded its highest monthly retail performance for this year in September, with 2,896 units sold. The Ford Ranger contributed 1,311 units, the Ford Territory sold 812, and the next-generation Ford Everest added 723.
Mike Breen, managing director of Ford Philippines, released a statement thanking Ford's customers for supporting the brand. "We thank our customers for their continued patronage of the Ford brand, as well as our dealers for their solid partnership in bringing our vehicles closer to more customers nationwide," says Breen. "Launching our next-gen vehicles in the last quarter definitely gave our retail performance a big boost, and we are definitely encouraged to sustain the momentum as we near the end of the year with more exciting offers and services for our customers."
Ford Philippines' strong 3Q sales can be attributed to its next-generation Ranger and Everest launch. Both models generated strong interest among the public, with close to 500 reservations and over 2,000 vehicle quotes from the Ford Philippines online portal.
It is safe to say that the upgraded features and redesigned looks of the Ford Ranger and Everest contributed to the upward tick in sales. Despite the long reservation queue for both models, car buyers are willing to wait for their unit, which acknowledges the brand's success in delivering products and specifications that matter to their target market.
Do you think Ford Philippines will be able to sustain its upward momentum until year end?
