Although most of us won’t take our SUVs and pickups through waist-high floods, it’s always reassuring to know that they can.
Ford Philippines is keen to prove this to potential buyers as it heads to SM City Pampanga on Sept. 23-25, 2022, for its third Ford Island Conquest, where it will showcase the 2023 Ford Ranger pick-up and its SUV cousin, the 2023 Ford Everest.
The company said the event will feature a dynamic display, an on-road test drive (where most pick-ups and SUVs spend their lives), and a water-wading course.
“The Ford Island Conquest heads to its third location this month, allowing us to reach more customers and give them the opportunity not only to see our vehicles but to test drive them and experience their features and capabilities,” Ford Philippines managing director Mike Breen in a press statement.
“The Ford Island Conquest is also designed to be a fun weekend event for the family, so we would like to invite all Ford enthusiasts and fans to visit SM City Pampanga to be up close and personal with our amazing Ford vehicles,” he added.
Ford Ranger and Everest boast an 800-mm wading capability
The Ranger and the Everest were launched in the Philippines on July 28, 2022.
Based on an all-new platform, the two are powered by a pair of 2.0-liter, twin-cam, 16-valve, inline-4 turbodiesel engines producing either 170 PS and 405 Nm of torque for the single-turbo variant or 210 PS and 500 Nm of torque for the twin-turbo variant.
Both vehicles have a wading depth of 800 millimeters, along with a bevy of off-road features like a terrain management system, hill-descent control, and an electronic locking rear differential.
Prizes, cash discounts for Ford buyers
Ford Philippines said customers who will make a reservation on a new Ford vehicle at the event can get cash discounts of up to P100,000, along with premium Ford merchandise and accessory packs for the Ranger and Everest.
The company also said customers who get financing at the event for the Ranger, Everest, Territory, Explorer, or Mustang would receive an additional P15,000 cash discount.
Guests can visit the Ford Island Conquest from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., with test drives open until 6 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public, but children under 12 will not be allowed to join the test-drive activity for safety reasons.
