An actual 2023 Hyundai Accent, also called the Hyundai Verna, has been spotted online in what appears to be its home country South Korea.

The new version of the sedan lives up to its teaser photos, revealing a more angular look for the nameplate. The new vehicle also has similar styling elements to its bigger brother, the Hyundai Elantra, which also got a sharper-looking update.

The leaked images reveal that the new Accent will get a horizontal LED strip similar to the Hyundai Staria, with its headlights positioned lower in the bumper. Aside from this, it appears that the new version of the sedan gets a new grille that dominates its entire front fascia with small slits on the sides for its fog lights.

Also present is a sunroof which indicates a more premium positioning. Hyundai aims for a sportier look for the new Accent thanks to pronounced fins on its lower bumper. 

Moving on to the side and the 2023 Hyundai Accent has a more relaxed side profile than its bigger brother, the Elantra. Instead of sharper angles, the sedan has more curves but more creases in its bodywork. The new Accent also has gotten a new set of what we assume to be 17-inch wheels with a sharp and angular design. 

LED taillights are positioned closer to the back quarter panels towards the vehicle's rear instead of directly in the trunk area. However, just like the Elantra, these tail lights are vertically positioned with what appears to be an LED strip connecting the two. It also gets vent-like accents and a diffuser at the back of the vehicle. 

Only a few things are known about the 2023 Hyundai Accent. However, reports have stated that it will be dropping its 1.6 turbo diesel engine for a set of gasoline engines. The first gasoline engine is a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder motor that produces 113 PS and 144 Nm of torque, which is mated to a CVT. The other engine option is a 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 160 PS and 260 Nm of torque. It is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission or a six-speed manual.
