The all-new Nissan Terra is a vehicle to love, but it has several points for improvement in its previous iteration. The 2022 model, however, has brought some major improvements to the table. Here are just three things I love from the 2022 Nissan Terra.
The Looks -- Inside and Out
On the outside, the new Terra looks like a mini-me of the Nissan Patrol. The new front and rear fascia has actually brought these aesthetically pleasing improvement. The refined exterior shows modern lines and form all-around. This actually encapsulates what the Terra is about – a robust platform but attuned to modern needs and understandings.
On the inside, the Terra’s top of the line, the VL 4x4, is actually the prettiest with the red-colored dashboard and trimmings. The flat-bottom steering wheel also adds to the sportiness of the look. The design, overall, does not only scream sportiness as it also shows how family-centered the Terra is, as it tries to entertain the second and third rows with a small pull-down screen where they can watch movies from their favorite streaming service. This theater-like ambience is improved by theater-like seats as the rear seats are higher than the ones in-front, so the leg and head rooms are significantly better than its competition.
All in all, I just like how the Terra looks inside and out.
The Wheels
Okay, the wheels are technically part of the looks but the new Terra, regardless of variant, now has 18-inch two tone alloy wheels. Well, the wheels I am talking about are not just the rims and tyres but also, how the Terra actually listened to user suggestions that they now placed disc-brakes on all four wheels, replacing the rear drums of the last model. Actually, this is not truly a significant step because this is supposed to be expected already, but I included it because this is one of the things that people are looking for in the new Terra.
The Tech
The Nissan Terra is no Tesla, but it has all the modern technology a car owner needs. Balancing the number of automation and human control, the Terra offers safety features such as a 360 Safety Shield or a 360 camera, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Warning, and all of Nissan’s Intelligent Mobility.
Inside the car, there are digital panels on the instrument cluster and of course the infotainment system. An electronic handbrake system, and seats that fold by the flick of a button. There is also the intelligent rear-view mirror which truly amazes me. Perhaps a power tailgate can be included next time.
Aside from the three, there are many ways to love the Nissan Terra. It’s one heck of a car that has the right balance of everything.
