When we see a good-looking car on the road, a head-turner that seems splendid, we may think that it doesn’t come with flaws. We are attracted to the physical looks of the car to the extent of forgetting that, just like any vehicle, it comes with disadvantages. The Honda HR-V is undeniably a good-looking car ever since, especially now. But does its gorgeous exterior a manifestation of its totality?
Pros
It has evolved into a more gorgeous-looking car.
Throughout the years, Honda HR-V has always been one of the most handsome-looking cars ever made. And for its 2022 version, the HR-V came with impeccably impressive exterior evolution. It has gotten more mature with its sportier appearance and coupe-like build. The air vent grille has been redesigned into a different-looking front fascia than before. The hood has gotten longer and flatter than the outgoing model, and the rear's shape and light bar that runs across the back leaves a luxurious vibe on the road.
The legroom is enormously spacious.
Getting inside the cabin of the 2022 version of the HR-V, it is noticeable that Honda has improved its legroom, addressing one of the concerns about the previous versions of the model. Not only that the legroom has enough space to sit decently without having any leg discomfort, but the unexpectedly spacious legroom gives the utmost comfort to the passengers. It doesn't matter whether the passengers at the front and the back are both six-footers; the legroom space still has a stretch allowance for the passengers, which is a huge consideration.
It has limited headroom space.
The legroom space is impressive and desirable, yes. However, the compromise lies in the headroom space. The headroom space is not spacious at all, rather is limited depending on the height of the passenger, especially at the back. Plut it could also be a problem whenever the car drives over arduous terrains and slopes because the passengers might bump their heads.
The seats are impressively versatile.
Unlike all its competitors in the same class, the Honda HR-V's seats are highly versatile, enabling the passengers to have multiple seating configurations. It allows flexibility, easy access, comfort, and more storage options. When the rear seats are folded flat, it provides additional space for the cargo at the back. The number of configurations the HR-V seats are capable of is innumerable and depends on the passenger's preference.
The cabin materials used look and feel premium.
We have always known Honda not thrifting us with the quality of the materials they use to ensure the safety of the passengers and the premium finish as a part of their craft. Although the cabin materials used on different variants differ, they are of the same high quality. The V Turbo variant gets a soft leather finish for most cabin parts, while urethane for the S variant. The two variants come in different materials, but both are of high quality of their material.
The hidden door handle is a wow factor.
The hidden rear door handle of the Honda HR-V received positive feedback years back when it was introduced. And this year's version of the HR-V has received more praise as it complements the overall new look of the HR-V. Because the new crossover goes for a coupe-like body structure and total appeal, the hidden door handles make the vehicle look like a two-door coupe rather than a four-door crossover SUV, which is impressive.
Cons
The engine is not that impressive.
Honda HR-V has always been one of the most gorgeous-looking cars in the automotive industry, and it's very unlikely for someone to say the opposite about it. However, unlike its external beauty, the HR-V's engine is not that impressive as some said that it was just fine and others say it's underpowered. There are two engine options for the 2022 version, the turbo, and the non-turbo variants. Based on test drives, the HR-V has the power to perform what the vehicle should do, it can pull the load and run smoothly, especially the turbo engine. It's just that its performance is not as special as its looks.
There are several piano black touches.
Piano black touches are indeed luxurious-looking inside the cabin, it makes the car look somehow expensive. However, there are consequences to having too many piano black touches as this material could easily scratch and get old, especially to those parts that are always touched. Although this is not a big issue, and some people might be okay with it, it would've been nice if there were less of this material on the parts of the cabin that are always touched.
It doesn't offer as many of the tech advanced features as its rivals.
Every car brand is special in its way, its strength, and Honda has been known to have a special regard for its craft in providing high-quality materials for its vehicles. That's their edge over their competitors in the market, they are trusted for the quality, and that's what the customers get in Honda. Whereas, their competitors have their edge in customers, too, like advanced tech features. Honda isn't left behind when it comes to innovation, but when it comes to the HR-V, the company didn't spoil their customers with all the advanced technologies they have developed. The HR-V still doesn't come with power-adjustable seats, and that's just the basic.
