Isuzu Traviz

The Isuzu Traviz is a three-seater, light-duty commercial vehicle with a separate front cab and rear utility body. It comes in two variants namely, the base SWB (Short wheelbase) and the top spec LWB (Long wheelbase). Being a commercial vehicle, the rear of the Traviz can be configured to be fitted with a utility body, an aluminum van, a drop-side truck bed or a refrigerated van to suit every kind of business. Under the hood, there’s a 2.5-liter 4JA1 Direct Injection Common Rail (CRDI) Blue Power diesel engine capable of making 77 hp and 176 Nm of torque. It uses a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. The price range of the Isuzu Traviz starts at ₱962,000 for the S variant and ₱992,000 for the L variant.

Staying true with Isuzu’s tradition of providing reliable products and affordable business solutions. Isuzu Philippines’ launched the Traviz in November of 2019 which serves as the Japanese automaker's light-duty commercial vehicle. In addition to the utility van, the Traviz comes with different rear body configurations including a refrigerated van, aluminum van and drop side truck bed. The Traviz is rated to haul 1.6 tons of payload capacity as it comes powered by a 2.5-liter, Direct Injection Common Rail Blue Power diesel power plant that’s Euro 4 compliant.

Variant and Price

The price of the Isuzu Traviz in the Philippines starts at ₱962,000 for the entry-level 2.5 S, while the top-of-the-line Isuzu Traviz 2.5 L is priced at ₱992,000.

The entire front cab of the Isuzu Traviz imparts a modern approach for a commercial vehicle with rounded corners and a steeply angled windshield. It even adopts Isuzu’s signature grille design that’s also evident on other Isuzu models.

What’s great and the most practical feature of the overall exterior design of the Traviz are the large headlamps and wide windshield that promotes driver visibility. The separate utility body at the rear is mostly flat with sliding glass windows and a rear door.

But that’s to be expected for a multipurpose body that’s meant to haul cargo or ferry passengers. Depending on the client, Isuzu can equip the Traviz with a refrigerated van, aluminum van or drop side truck bed.

The Isuzu Traviz dimensions are 4,450mm Length(SWB) and 4,600mm (LWB) Length x 1,695 mm Width x 1,955 mm Height. It has 2,250mm(SWB) and 2,400mm(LWB) wheelbase, with 200 mm ground clearance.

The front cabin of the Isuzu Traviz is best described as highly functional, but it also comes with modern styling elements.

Like the rounded dashboard that adopts a straightforward aesthetic. It comes with easy to read gauges and a center console that houses the air-con vents with manual controls and a 1-DIN stereo.

The Traviz provides ample seating for three up front including the driver, while the gray fabric seats offer limited adjustments. With the engine located under the cabin, the driver's seat can only be slid back and forward. The utility body at the rear comes with a pair of bench seats that’s good for 8 on either side.

A rear air-con system with plenty of vents keeps the occupants cool. The bench seats can also be folded, opening up the cabin area, creating more space that’s around 232 cubic feet. What’s great though is the ample head and legroom up front with great forward visibility that the Isuzu Traviz offers.

To keep the front occupants of the Isuzu Traviz entertained, there’s a 1-DIN stereo with radio tuner and USB port, while the sound comes from a pair of speakers. Being a commercial vehicle, the Traviz only gets basic safety features such as, three-point seat belts for the three occupants and a reverse warning buzzer.

The Isuzu Traviz comes powered by a Euro-4 compliant, 2.5-liter, 4JA1 Direct Injection Common Rail (CRDI) Blue Power diesel engine. Factory rated to generate 77 hp and 177 Nm of torque, the Traviz offers a balance between power and fuel economy. A 5-speed manual transmission comes as standard on both variants.

The front suspension consists of a double wishbone set up with coil springs. The rear suspension utilizes semi-elliptical leaf springs with shock absorbers that’s designed for heavy duty use.

For stopping power, the Traviz relies on ventilated discs up front and leading and trailing rear drum brakes.

For added safety, it comes with hydraulic vacuum assist and Deceleration Sensing Proportioning Valve (DSPV). The Traviz rolls on 14-inch steel wheels with 195R 14C 8PR tires.
