When choosing a vehicle meant for government rescue operations, it’s essential to pick a model that’s supremely dependable even in the worst situations.
That’s why the 2nd District of Oriental Mindoro selected the Isuzu TRAVIZ Rescue Vehicle as part of the province’s ongoing campaign to modernize and strengthen its rescue efforts among its 136 barangays.
Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) announced in a July 2023 press statement that it has turned over 16 TRAVIZ Rescue Vehicle units to Oriental Mindoro 2nd District Rep. Alfonso Umali Jr., Oriental Mindoro 2nd District board member Jean Paulo Umali, Pinamalayan mayor Aristeo Baldos and Mansalay mayor Ferdinand Maliwanag.
“It is our honor to be part of this program to assist in helping our kababayans [fellow Filipinos] here in Mindoro, especially during this rainy season, when there are a lot of typhoons and disasters,” said IPC president Tetsuya Fujita in a recorded message.
IPC said it had already delivered TRAVIZ Rescue Vehicle units to the local government. These are now being utilized in different barangays in the area.
“We trust Isuzu TRAVIZ due to its mobility – dahil sa reliability, matibay at sigurado tayo [because it’s reliable, durable and proven],” said Rep. Umali.
Maximum utility on four wheels
The Isuzu TRAVIZ is a light commercial truck that competes with the likes of the Mitsubishi L300 and Hyundai H100.
Even if it only has four wheels, its gross payload of 1,660 kg includes it in the Metro Manila truck ban.
The TRAVIZ Rescue Vehicle uses the Utility Van body, although the model is also available as an Aluminum Van, Dropside Truck, and Refrigerated Van.
Powering the TRAVIZ is a 2.5-liter, twin-cam, 16-valve inline-4 turbodiesel engine producing 78 PS and 177 Nm of torque. This is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Do you think Oriental Mindoro LGUs will be able to maximize the Isuzu TRAVIZ's capabilities?
