After making its global debut just last month, we were expecting the local launch of the Kawasaki ZX-4RR to happen sometime around April. Kawasaki Motor Philippines, however, had other ideas.
To the delight of Filipino sportbike fans, an official unveiling of the ZX-4RR was held on the morning of March 7, 2023 at Kawasaki Makati.
Visitors and would-be ZX-4RR buyers got the chance to be the first ones to hear the mighty roar of its 401 cc, liquid-cooled, in-line four engine.
The rev counter redlines at 16,000 rpm, so let’s take a moment as we imagine how it would sound in the open track.
Try not to drool over your keyboard.
Anyway, the powerful mill of the ZX-4RR produces a maximum of 58.7 kW at 14,000 rpm and maximum torque of 39.6 Nm at 13,200 rpm. This crotch rocket comes with adjustable power mode settings, and the TFT instrument panel displays a gear indicator, lap times, and rpm more prominently when in Circuit mode.
The ZX-4RR features a quick shifter, a slipper clutch, and clutch assist. Of course, ABS and traction control come as standard.
The front is fitted with Showa SFF-BP suspension, and the rear sports a BFRC-lite horizontal back link shock absorber. The Pinoy-friendly 800 mm seat height makes the bike easier to straddle by a broader range of riders.
As of today, the Kawasaki ZX-4RR retails at ₱499,000, so there’s no need to sell a kidney to be able to have one in your garage. Just visit any Kawasaki Leisure Bikes store; we’re sure they can offer you a good deal for the ZX-4RR.
