The Toyota Zenix (not Innova Zenix) is one of the most highly anticipated new cars in the Philippines.
It rides on an all-new, front-wheel-drive platform and features both hybrid and non-hybrid variants. The Zenix will also be sold locally alongside the previous-generation turbodiesel Innova.
Toyota Motor Philippines announced in a June 22, 2023 Facebook post that customers can inquire about the Zenix at all its dealers nationwide starting the same date. This information was shared by other media outlets, as well.
Meanwhile, TMP vice president for marketing Elvin Luciano told AutoFun Philippines that customers can check out the all-new MPV in the metal starting June 22.
However, a quick call to nine TMP dealers in Metro Manila uncovered that only two had public display units in the showroom. These were:
Toyota Alabang – No display unit yet
Toyota Commonwealth – Display unit available, but only non-hybrid variant
Toyota Global City – Dealer launch on June 22, 2023, but photos of the display unit are not allowed until the official TMP launch
Toyota Makati – No display unit yet
Toyota North EDSA – No display unit yet
Toyota Otis – Display units available, both hybrid and non-hybrid
Toyota Pasig – No display unit until July 2023
Toyota Pasong Tamo – No display until July 2023
Toyota Quezon Avenue – No display until the end of June or start of July 2023
So we suggest giving your nearest Toyota dealer a call first to confirm if they have units on hand.
The Zenix made its global debut in Indonesia (known there as the Kijang Innova Zenix) on November 2022.
TMP said in a June 2023 press statement that the local model will come in two variants: the non-hybrid V and the hybrid Q.
The V is powered by a 2.0-liter, twin-cam, 16-valve inline-4 gasoline engine producing 174 PS and 205 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the Q gets a hybrid version of the 2.0-liter engine with a combined output of 186 PS and 393 Nm of torque.
Both are mated to a continuously variable transmission.
For comparison, the previous-generation Innova has a 2.8-liter, twin-cam, 16-valve inline-4 turbodiesel pumping out 174 PS and 360 Nm of torque. It also rides on a ladder-frame, rear-wheel-drive platform shared with the Toyota Hilux pick-up and the Toyota Fortuner sport-utility vehicle.
Prices for the new Zenix are:
2.0 V CVT – ₱1,670,000
2.0 Q Hybrid CVT – ₱1,953,000
TMP dealers are now accepting reservation deposits of ₱30,000. Just make sure to visit one with a display unit before you put any money down.
