Toyota Philippines has officially launched the 2024 Toyota Yaris Cross after several teasers and "spotted" photos. The new crossover slots between the Toyota Raize and the Toyota Corolla Cross in terms of pricing and size are part of the brand’s local lineup of crossovers.

It is also now the brand's most affordable Toyota hybrid vehicle in the local market with a price of ₱1,598,000. It further promotes Toyota's goal of carbon neutrality along with the brand's other hybrid cars, such as the RAV4, Camry, Corolla Altis, Corolla Cross, and Zenix.

We got the ASEAN version of the Toyota Yaris Cross for the Philippine market, which looks like a mini RAV4. It has a broad front fascia, angular nose, wide grille, sleek headlights, sloping hood, and body cladding on the sides.

Aside from this, the crossover rides on 18-inch allow wheels, which look similar in design to the Toyota Raize.

At the back, it retains the same design language as its bigger sibling, the RAV4, with its unique LED taillights, broad tailgate, and a faux diffuser on the bottom of the bumper.

On the inside, the Toyota Yaris Cross carries much of the same design language as its smaller sibling, the Toyota Raize. It has a multi-layer dashboard with soft-touch plastics per layer. It also comes with leather accents paired with blue stitching.

The blue stitching continues to the seats, which are either fabric or leather, depending on the variant you get. You also get automatic single-zone climate controls and a wireless charger for the top variant.

Under the hood, the 2024 Toyota Yaris Cross is powered by two 1.5-liter engines. The first is a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine (2NR-VE), which it shares with the Toyota Vios. It produces 106 PS and 138 Nm of torque and is mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that sends power exclusively to the front wheels.

The second is the new 1.5-liter engine (2NR-VEX) that produces a total system output of 111PS and 121 Nm of torque. It is assisted by an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery pack that is part of the vehicle’s hybrid system.
