A Mitsubishi concept could be a preview of the next-gen Delica

Mitsubishi to debut concept car that might just be a preview of the next generation Delica.

Mitsubishi looks to have an interesting lineup for the 2023 Japan Mobility Show as it has teased a concept car that might preview the next-generation Mitsubishi Delica.

The car in question does not have a name, only being called ā€˜concept carā€™ for the time being as it has been teased in a single image showing off its high-riding off-road capabilities in what appears to be an MPV-shaped package thanks to its boxy looks. The rear window is part of a bigger design element, which we assume will be part of its massive tailgate.

Mitsubishi says the new concept car ā€œcombines the road handling of an SUV with the comfort and user-friendliness of an MPV.ā€

As you may have suspected, it is an electric vehicle that can send power to all four wheels individually. No interior images have been released, but we expect a spacious, futuristic cabin.

Aside from the concept car, the Japanese brand will also display the new generation Mitsubishi Triton, which debuted earlier in the year. The pickup truck now rides on a new chassis, has the next generation of its dynamic shield design language, and has a more powerful turbo diesel engine option.

Besides the other two models, Mitsubishi will also showcase its Last 1 Mile mobility concept, a small buggy. The concept buggy was developed with the Japanese start-up firm Lifehub Inc. It uses recycled batteries from used EVs and has been designed to allow ā€œfurther adventures after the car reaches its destination.ā€

For now, we will keep our eyes peeled for more details about the ā€œconcept carā€ at the Japan Mobility Show, as Mitsubishi may have a surprise in store for us all. Who knows, instead of a concept, it might just be a quick preview of a vehicle that will enter production soon.
