Nissan Philippines is doing something interesting with its best-selling electrified crossover as the Nissan Kicks e-Power gets a new sportier-looking variant.

The Japanese automaker announced the new variant through its social media pages, but technically, the model is a dealer option accessory package based on the Kicks VE model. 

The new Sport variant comes exclusively in Galaxy Black and is differentiated from the rest of the model lineup by its full LED headlights with LED DRLs. It also gets a silver aero kit with a front lip, side skirts, a rear skirt, and a silver-finished rear roof spoiler. 

What you get with the new Sport model

As the new Sport variant is based on the VE model, expect to see the same feature set. It gets smart keyless entry, zero gravity fabric seats, single-zone automatic climate controls, and an 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also receives a 4-speaker sound system as standard. 

Regarding safety features, the Nissan Kicks e-Power Sport gets an Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Emergency Braking, Driver Attention Alert, and Hill Start Assist on top of its 6-airbags and ABS with EBD. Lest we forget, it also comes with rear parking sensors and a backup camera. 

Under the hood, the Nissan Kicks Sport is still powered by an electric motor paired with a 1.2-liter gasoline engine acting as its onboard "generator." Power figures remain the same at 136 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque. 

As for its price point, the new model is priced at ₱1,429,000, which places it above the VE and right below the VL variants of the electrified crossover.

It's a good mid-point for those who want the exterior looks of the VL model but with a sportier look to it with just a slight increase over what the VE model offers.
