From panoramic moonroofs to spy shots – the hype ahead of the November 2022 launch of the all-new Toyota Innova is really building up.
This time, it’s a leaked publicity photo that our friends from sister publication WapCar was able to report on.
The photo comes from a Nov. 17, 2022 Instagram post that bares the all-new Innova (also known as the “Innova Hycross” or “Innova Zenix”).
This photo includes the design details of the uncamouflaged Innova spy shots that we reported on last Nov. 10, 2022, such as the pointed headlights, large front grill, and the scowling lower front bumper.
Also apparent are the high beltline, arched fenders, and swooping rear-quarter window. All of which make the Innova look more like an SUV than an MPV.
The publicity photo appears to show a high-specification model with large alloy wheels and black plastic trim around the wheel arches.
WapCar also reported on a teaser video released by Toyota India on a large multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) with large, wraparound rear taillights.
Although no final details have been announced, Toyota’s upcoming MPV is expected to ditch its pick-up-based underpinnings and rear-wheel-drive configuration for a unibody, front-wheel-drive chassis.
The new setup, which is similar to what was done to the Toyota Avanza, will likely accommodate a new hybrid powerplant.
Our friends at AutoFun Indonesia also reported on October 2022 that the Innova Hycross will have a twin from Suzuki in the Indian market, which will slot above the Ertiga and XL6 MPVs.
