Chery Auto is set to enter the European market as the Chinese automaker has announced that its three sub-brands, Omoda, Jaecoo, and Exeed, are set to launch by 2025. 

First among the models to enter the European market is the Omoda 5, which will launch in Spain in 2023. The crossover is also expected to enter the Philippine market towards Q4 of 2023, first with a gasoline engine and later with hybrid drivetrain options.

Meanwhile, the Omoda 5 is set to enter the UK market in early 2024 before it is set to go on sale in Germany in April of that same year. The crossover is part of the brand’s strategy in Europe as it plans to offer combustion, plug-in hybrid, and electric vehicles to serve different regions' needs better.

Once the Omoda 5 enters the European market, it will be available in three different variants; the first will be an EV model set to arrive in the Philippines that makes around 198 horsepower and can travel 450 kilometers on a full charge from its 64-kilowatt-hour battery pack. 

As for Spain, Chery plans to introduce the Omoda 5 with an internal combustion engine first, while Germany will get the gas and electric models right from the start.

Regarding the other two brands, Jaecoo’s European lineup is still unknown. However, we suspect they will bring the Jaecoo 7 or 8, as it is one of the brand’s global models.

As for the EV brand Exeed, it is set to enter the European market by early 2025. It will reportedly bring in models such as the E03 and E0Y SUV, which have already been showcased earlier in 2023. 

With the European market supporting the rise of electric vehicles, it is easy to see why they are becoming so popular in the region, especially with the infrastructure to back them up and sustain the growing demand.
