MG Cyberster EV roadster arriving in the Philippines in 2024

Here's a bit of exciting news that should rattle the likes of the Mazda MX-5, the ToyotaGR 86, and even the NissanZ.
The MG Cyberster Battery Electric Vehicle roadster was revealed to global dealers today with SAIC Motor Philippines sending a delegation of the brand's top dealerships to the event.
According to a source from SAIC Motor Philippines who attended the event, the MG Cyberster will be released in the Philippines in 2024. Our source was also quoted as saying the MG Cyberster will be priced under ₱4,000,000.
The two-door electric sportscar is the first MG that will continue the brand's roadster pedigree. The MGA and the MGB were iconic models of the MG Car Company brand from the 1950s to the 1980s.

According to MG, the all-electric drop top Cyberster can do 0-60 km/h in 3.0 seconds. It is designed to bring back the MG brand's 1970s roadster model lineup, albeit with a modern twist. The MG Cyberster comes with scissor doors and an optional yoke steering wheel.

Abroad, it will come in either single-motor rear wheel drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive with about 530 PS.
The Philippine delegation was made up of dealer principals and exectives from MG Libis - Grand Canyon Group, the Winner of Global Excellence Dealer award for Philippines; MG North EDSA - Autospeedygo Group; and MG Angeles of the ANC group. SAIC Motor Philippines President Felix Jiang accompanied the dealer principals.

MG was a British car brand that became famous because of its small and lightweight open top two-seaters. It has since been transformed into a mass market automobile brand when Chinese car giant SAIC Motor acquired it in the late 2000s.
SAIC Motor Philippines formally took over the operations of the MG brand last July 20, 2023. This was after five years of being under the stewardship of the The Covenant Car Company Inc., who are also the distributors of Chevrolet in the country.
