The 2024 Toyota Wigo recently made its debut in the Philippine market. It brings with it a new body design, a new chassis, a familiar engine, and a new transmission.

It retains its 1.0-liter 3-cylinder engine but has done away with its 4-speed automatic and has replaced it with a continuously variable transmission, increasing its fuel efficiency.

However, it has kept a special feature from the older model that new and old drivers will appreciate, adding another layer of safety to the small hatchback. It is on top of its standard safety features, which include dual airbags and ABS with EBD, a reverse camera, and back sonar.

What's the special feature?

The special feature is its digital video recorder (DVR), as the name states; it's a video recorder for your vehicle and essentially functions like a dashcam.

It records the audio and video of your drive, which can be saved to your phone and in the memory card for retrieval for later use. 

The DVR is also useful in an accident as proof to help you with your insurance claims or to tell your side of a road incident.

It gives you another layer of protection as it will show the investigator undeniable proof of what happened. On a lighter note, It can also save funny or quirky events you see on the road.

Aside from what was mentioned above, the benefit of the DVR is that it comes with the vehicle straight from the showroom floor. It comes with OEM fitment and wiring, so you don't need to install it at an aftermarket shop.
