Everyone has their idea of the perfect dream car but unfortunately, never gets the chance to own one because well, let's face it, the cost of a brand new car is just too darn expensive these days. (no doubt about it Georgy boy hah-hah)
However, there's still a large percentage of folks out there who are wagging thick wads of paper currency daily; an affluent reflection of their so-called "privileged" economic standing in life.
But because of the widening economic discrepancy between the "haves" and the "have-nots," the rest of us ultimately gets to stay mean and cower behind the murky backdrop of desolation while happy and shiny people with thick wallets naturally can afford to buy whatever they want whether it be fine clothes, extravagant jewelry, and yes, even those eye-candy-filthy-exorbitant-priced cars.
And speaking of cars, Toyota Motors, come 2023, has an exciting offer for most of the society's elites in the form of a 2023 Toyota Vios/Yaris hybrid, a new breed of Toyota Vios that would discriminately bite the dust from most of the stiff competition happening across the range.
The report of this exciting development comes on the heels of images that were leaked online also seen from the latest spyshot of a road-test sighting in Thailand just a couple of months back that best reveals that the new Toyota Vios or Toyota Yaris sedan would look, more or less, in the league of the Asian-spec, 12th generation Toyota Corolla, but sporting much better-proportioned aesthetics than the latter.
Based on the spotted images, it's looking more than the front facade of the said car boasts of a mature chrome strip connecting to a sleeker-looking headlight while bottom air intakes appear to be trapezoidal in shape with chrome horizontal slats for a sportier appeal.
Moreover, at the rear, one would expect to see horizontal lights which are connected via a stunning light bar, details, although still sketchy at best, however, suggest that the new Yaris or Vios will get a traditional internal combustion engine variant as well as the hybrid variant kind.
Meanwhile, the traditional engine would have a naturally aspirated 1.2 liter four-cylinder petrol engine that makes 87hp and 108 Nm of torque
while the latter hybrid variant will have a 1.5 liter 3-cylinder mill that makes 91 hp and 120 Nm of torque with the dual electric motor setup producing 80hp and 141Nm of torque.
Both the electric motors and engine sends power to the front wheels only via an e-CVT gearbox.
Toyota is expected to launch the 2023 Yaris/Vios in Thailand by August 2022 and in the rest of the Asian region in the 3rd quarter of 2022 according to Review1Box YouTube channel.
What's more, according to AutoIndustriya.com, the most intriguing and wonderful aspect of the all-new 2023 Vios/Yaris is the inclusion of the much-rumored E-Smart Hybrid system that was initially developed by the Daihatsu Motor company that comes with a highly-specialized setup comprising the gasoline-powered 1.2-liter engine that charges a lithium-ion battery pack installed in the car that powers the electric motor providing superb acceleration, fuel efficiency, and minimal carbon footprint to the environment.
However, reputable sources close to the website say that 2023 Vios would be most likely equipped with the Hybrid THS-II system. In this setup, a car will be powered by a xa1.5-liter naturally-aspirated inline-four mill chained to an electric motor that is similar from the hybrid configuration of HEV cars like the Corolla Cross HEV, Corolla Altis HEV, Camry HEV, and RAV4 HEV.
As it now stands, this would only be the beginning as the Philippine automotive industry moves into the new and exciting frontier of vehicle electrification in years to come. With this in mind, the Blue Oval City
already had a head start, so it seems. The question now rests on whether or not others will choose to follow that same path.
