Imagine the Toyota Fortuner had a baby. Imagine the Toyota Raize as the chic hot sister, the Veloz the eldest brother. Imagine you're the youngest in an awesome Toyota family. Yes, you're the Toyota Wigo. This stub faced little machine is a great first car, both on price point and reliability. Add its updated looks and colors, the Toyota Wigo is a great micro-compact car. Now, as gas prices world-wide skyrocket week after week, as relentless as ever, having an affordable car which you can purchase just to bring you to work, point A to point B, seems like a darn great idea. (If you have the money' it's this or losing your dignity as a city commuter, as the public transport situation is waaaay getting worse.)
Before we dive into politics, let's dive towards what's inside the Wigo's hood. It's a small yet terrible 3 cylinder in-line, 12 valve, 1KR-VE 1.0 liter DOHC engine with VVTi. This gasoline engine is either paired with a manual transmission or an automatic. It can produce about 66 horsepower and about 89 Newton meters of torque. This is small enough to be fuel efficient but strong enough to bring you where you could be. (Yes, Tito, even to Baguio. Please, stop with this ridiculous question!)

So yes, Toyota has found the right mix of power and fuel efficiency to the Wigo. In the city, reports say that it can clock in about 10-12 kilometers per liter of expensive gasoline. (I mean, it's fine with the regular unleaded, but yeah, gasoline, any type, is expensive. Get it?) On the highway, this baby can bring you optimum fuel economy at about 22 to 24 kilometers per liter. If you're not even amazed then why?
Just make sure not to put too much cargo on the Wigo, and even if it says it can fit five people, when you need to go somewhere and you'll be the designated driver, please bring the other car. Still, for first car owners, a Wigo can be an excellent choice bring you places you need to be. You can never go wrong with it.
