The all-new Toyota Innova is coming to the Philippines this year, along with its much-talked-about hybrid powertrain.
AutoFun Philippines spoke to several Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) dealers, some of which are now accepting a refundable ₱30,000 reservation deposit for the upcoming multi-purpose vehicle (MPV).
The deposit will be deducted from the car's final price, which has not yet been announced.
The dealers said the all-new Innova is expected to launch in the Philippines by July 2023 and will be available in hybrid and non-hybrid models.
The next-generation Innova was launched in Indonesia on November 2022.
It rides on the front-wheel-drive, unibody, Toyota New Global Architecture-C (GA-C) platform, which is shared with the Toyota Corolla Cross, Toyota Corolla Altis, Toyota CH-R, Toyota Prius, and Lexus UX. The old Innova used a rear-wheel-drive, ladder-frame configuration.
The latest version of the MPV also loses its renowned 2.8-liter turbodiesel engine. This has been replaced with a 2.0-liter, twin-cam, 16-valve inline-4 gasoline engine mated to an electric motor.
The combined output for the Innova Hybrid is 186 PS and 393 Nm of torque, compared to 174 PS and 360 Nm for the turbodiesel. The Philippine-market Innova will also be available with a non-hybrid, 2.0-liter inline-4 gasoline engine, producing 174 PS and 205 Nm of torque.
Both powertrains are mated to a continuously variable transmission with 10 simulated ratios.
In Indonesia, the previous-generation Innova Kijang and the new Innova Zenix are sold side-by-side. It is not yet clear if TMP will continue selling the older model once the new Innova is released.
In Indonesia, the all-new Innova Zenix comes in five variants – G, G Hybrid, V, V Hybrid and Q Hybrid.
Although final specifications for the Philippine-market Innova have not yet been announced, the MPV is available elsewhere with a bevy of safety and convenience features, such as:
Panoramic retractable moonroof
Electric captain's seats with Ottoman leg rests
Wireless charging
Black leather seats
10-inch head unit with smartphone connectivity
10-inch dual rear-seat entertainment (Q and V variants)
360-degree camera
Connected mobility via the T Intouch features of the myTOYOTA app

The all-new Innova is expected to directly compete with the likes of the Geely Okavango.
