The upcoming 2024 Toyota GR Yaris is getting new looks and even more power!

The upcoming 2024 Toyota GR Yaris hot hatchback will be launched in Japan sometime next year.

Japanese automotive publication BestCarWeb reported that the little three-door will get a facelift, which includes new LED headlights and LED daytime running lights. Keen observers will also note the canards on the bumper that help improve airflow.

Out back, there are redesigned LED taillights and a larger tailgate spoiler, which will also aid in the updated GR Yaris’ performance.

Inside, the 2024 Yaris will also get a fully digital instrument panel with a modern and informative appearance that was previously implemented in the larger Toyota GR Corolla.

More power, new gearbox

The updated GR Yaris will likewise receive a generous power increase.

Its turbocharged 1.6-liter, twin-cam, 12-valve inline-3 gasoline engine now makes 304 PS, up from 272 PS in the previous model. To handle this greater punch, the shock absorbers and brakes have been uprated. 

In addition, the Toyota New Global Architecture body structure has also been improved to make the 2024 GR Yaris more rigid and stable when driven at high speeds.
