The MitsubishiMontero Sport is one of the most popular SUVs in the local market, and it’s not surprising that multiple car clubs bear its name.
We had the privilege of joining one of the said clubs in an important gathering last August 27, 2023.
The Montero Sport Pilipinas (MSP) celebrated its 4th anniversary last August 27. MitsubishiGlobal City in Taguig very kindly opened its doors on a Sunday so the establishment could serve as the venue.
Before the festivities started, we had a chance to have a friendly chat with MSP president and founder Eric “Braxx” Evangelista, and he happily shared some information about his club.
Eric came from a different Montero Sport club, but organizational drama and money issues among the members prompted him to leave and start a new club in July 2019. He banned money-making schemes within the newly formed organization and vowed it would be all about camaraderie.
From 13 pioneering members, MSP has grown into the most active Montero Sport club, with 900 active members and 8,000 members here and abroad.
Aside from festive gatherings like the one we’ve attended, MSP mainly engages in charitable work and relief operations once or twice a month. Being an entrepreneur himself, Eric understands that not all members will be available to join in club activities all the time. Hence, the club never requires attendance from its members.
Eric is also very serious about keeping MSP free from money issues, and the club has no membership fee. If you want to be a member or know more about MSP, you may visit the Mitsubishi Montero Sport Nation FB page.
Wouldn’t it be nice to be a member of a drama-free club like the MSP?
