Two of Toyota’s most popular models in the U.S. are reportedly getting new looks by next year.

American motoring publication Autoblog reported on March 2023 that redesigned versions of the Toyota Camry sedan and the Toyota RAV4 crossover may arrive as early as 2024.

Both are expected to use revised versions of the brand’s TNGA-K platforms.

As for styling, the Toyota Crossover EV Concept that was unveiled on December 2021 could provide the future design direction for the next RAV4.

Hybrid-only RAV4?

The current-generation RAV4, which has been in production since 2018, may only come with a hybrid engine in the next iteration.

The crossover has two engine options in the USA. One is a 2.5-liter, twin-cam, 16-valve inline-4 gasoline engine producing 206 PS and 249 Nm of torque.

The other is a hybrid version of the 2.5-liter engine with a combined output of 222 PS and 221 Nm of torque. The U.S. also gets a plug-in hybrid model called the RAV4 Prime with a staggering combined output of 306 PS.

Non-hybrid Camry may live on

As for the Camry, Toyota will reportedly still continue to offer internal-combustion options together with the hybrid model. 

The large sedan uses the same 2.5-liter powerplants as the RAV4, along with a 3.5-liter, twin-cam, 24-valve V6 gasoline engine producing 305 PS and 362 Nm of torque.

Meanwhile, all Camrys and RAV4s in the Philippines are hybrid-only.
