The 2024 Mitsubishi Triton, known as the Mitsubishi Strada locally, was spied undergoing road testing in Thailand. Spy shots of the pickup truck were posted online by the Facebook account MZ Crazy Cars.
While the vehicle was covered in heavy camouflage to hide its body lines, we can see that the new Strada/Triton is boxier and broader than its current iteration.
Mitsubishi Strada is one of the older pickup trucks in the Philippines; its other rivals have already entered newer generations, with the Mitsubishi only receiving a facelift with a few minor updates.

A full reveal is expected for the next-generation pickup truck sometime in March of 2023, which marks the end of the Japanese financial year. Given that the Mitsubishi Strada is a popular model in the ASEAN and Oceania region, it could launch soon after its Japanese debut.
What can see from the spy shots
While the spy shots donât reveal too much about the next-generation pick-up truck, the images alone can infer that it will carry the Mitsubishiâs latest iteration of the dynamic shield design language.
It means that the next-gen Strada could receive similar styling to that of the Mitsubishi Xpander with new T-shaped headlights and a more horizontal-themed front.
The photos also reveal a larger grille up front with split-level headlights, while down the sides, the pickup truck receives a crease and a belt line that swoops upwards near the rear doors.
Will it be the base for the next-generation Nissan Navara?
It's not a secret that Nissan and Mitsubishi are in an alliance; given that information, it's highly likely that the next-gen Mitsubishi Strada will share some of its parts with the next-gen Nissan Navara but with different styling.
Under the hood, we can expect both pickup trucks to share the same, if not similar, engine technology. The new Strada will reportedly house a ânext generation diesel engineâ; however, this has yet to be confirmed.
There are also talks about the new Strada getting hybridization; however, this information has yet to be confirmed.
What do you think of the new Mitsubishi Strada? Will it retain its position as one of the more futuristic-looking pickup trucks in the market?
