The Isuzu mu-X has been in the Philippines for quite some time now since it initially launched in 2021. Fast forward to 2023, and Isuzu Philippines has given its famous 7-seater turbo diesel SUV a minor update with changes to its exterior equipment.
Interestingly, the updated mu-X arrived in the Philippines before its pickup truck brother, the Isuzu D-MAX (Specs | News), which recently got a facelift in Thailand.
What are the updates?
The 2023 Isuzu mu-X remains the same in its shape and exterior. However, Isuzu Philippines has given it a new set of wheels for the LS-E model. The new wheels are still 20 inches in diameter but now carry a new design.
Aside from this, the SUV also gets a new front grille that gets a black chrome finish instead of chrome.
Additionally, Isuzu has given the top-spec model a new foot sensor for its power tailgate.
Rounding up the exterior changes is a new Norweigan Blue exterior color option.
Any other changes?
The 2023 Isuzu mu-X remains the same in interior features as its 2021 launch version. The SUV retains its 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto from AVT, 4.2-inch TFT display, and black leather seats for the LS-E variants.
Engine options remain unchanged for the 2023 Isuzu mu-X, as it still carries 1.9-liter RZ4E and 3.0-liter turbo diesel engines. The former is for its entry-level models and produces 150 PS and 350 Nm paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The latter produces 190 PS and 450 Nm of torque, paired with 6-speed manual or automatic transmission options.
Like its launch version, the 2023 Isuzu mu-X has advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS), giving the LS-A blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.
The LS-E variants add adaptive cruise control with a stop-and-go function, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, turn assist, pedal misapplication mitigation, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams.
Isuzu Philippines has also added multi-collision braking to the SUV, preventing the vehicle from moving further after the airbags have been deployed.
Pricing for the SUV has remained unchanged with the base variant RZ43 4x2 LS Automatic starting at ₱1,650,000 and the top-ranging 3.0-liter 4x4 LS-E Automatic coming in at ₱2,505,000.
