The Toyota Crown Sedan and Crown SportCross have both been unveiled by FAW Toyota at the 20th Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition last December 30, 2022. 

With pre-sale prices equivalent to ₱2,989,834 and ₱3,475,986, respectively, the two new models are the 16th generation of the famed Crown mid-size luxury nameplate whose history dates back to 1955.

The 2023 Crown Sedan and Crown SportCross are the first in a full-category luxury brand lineup that Toyota says will eventually cover sedans, crossovers, SUVs, and MPVs.

Off-road luxury: Crown SportCross 

As a new generation model, the Crown SportCross will have a 2.4-liter turbocharged hybrid powertrain with four-wheel drive via front and rear electric motors. It is a newly designed hybrid system by Toyota which will have the new HYBRID MAX setup with 346 PS and 551 Nm of torque. This makes a 0 to 100km/h run possible in 5.8 seconds. With its cross-back styling and luxury amenities, the Crown SportCross opens up a new avenue for premium driving.

It adopts an "island structure" design concept with bi-tone exterior colors for maximum visual impact. It stands 4 inches taller than a Camry with its 21-inch wheels but retains the premium VIP space while adding a utilitarian finish. The Crown name is reserved and understated no more. 

Traditional elegance: Crown Sedan

The 2023 Toyota Crown Sedan, meanwhile, relies on aggressive technology and styling tempered by traditional luxury finishing to continue providing customers with a first-class feel. Its 2.5-liter hybrid powertrain is geared more for fuel savings with its dual-axle dual motor module up front. The fourth-generation hybrid matches the premium creature comforts that have made the nameplate popular over the years.
